Cara Harbstreet Recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year Area dietitian receives state-level award for leadership and commitment to profession

Cara Harbstreet, MS, RD, LD of Mission, KS, has been named the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year by the Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (KSAND). This award recognizes a dietitian 35 years of age or younger who demonstrates involvement at the local, state, and national levels of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and provides leadership and advancement in the field of dietetics.

Cara is a Clinical Nutrition Specialist at Children’s Mercy Hospital and the owner of Street Smart Nutrition. She is currently the KSAND Secretary and is a regular media contributor at both the local and national level.

Cara was presented her award during KSAND’s Awards Banquet held in conjunction with their annual conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Overland Park, KS, on April 28, 2017.
