The Good Neighbor Project

The 2017 Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce LEADership Class will be hosting The Good Neighbor Project on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bent Oak Park located at 1300 SE 30th Street, Oak Grove, Mo.

The Project will be working to help our Oak Grove neighbors replace trees in Bent Oak Park that were destroyed during the ‘Oak Grove’ tornado in March 2017. The Class is looking for volunteers to help plant and mulch over 1,200 trees during this event. Volunteers may sign up for a shift and learn more about the project by visiting goo.gl/Y6RuQB . Forest ReLeaf’s CommuniTree program has generously donated 200 3-gallon oak trees and the Missouri Department of Conservation’s George O. White Nursery has generously donated 1,000 seedlings to be planted throughout Bent Oak Park.

During the afternoon break, Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross and Oak Grove Parks & Recreation Director Scott Matson will thank volunteers and participate in a group photo.
