Health Partnership Clinic in Ottawa offers Walk-In Physicals for Kindergarteners and School-Aged Children

Health Partnership Clinic (HPC) in Ottawa is providing parents with an opportunity to get a jump start on their children’s health. The clinic, located at 107 S. Main St. in downtown Ottawa, will provide physicals on a walk-in basis as well as accepting appointments on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For questions or to schedule an appointment, call 913-648-2266 or 855-886-6938 (toll-free).

According to Jenny Miller, APRN, FNP-BC, it is critical for parents to get a head start in preparing their children entering Kindergarten. “One important step is a health check-up. At Health Partnership Clinic, we’ll provide a comprehensive physical to make sure the child is ready for school.”

“By scheduling an annual physical, you’re also able to monitor the growth, health and development of your child and safeguard against potential physical problems that could arise,” adds Anne VanGarsse, MD, HPC’s Health Officer. “Your child’s yearly exam ensures that he or she is up-to-date on vaccines to protect against serious diseases and helps protect the health of classmates, friends and others in your community.”

Miller recommends that parents bring all required forms to be completed. Children who wear glasses or contacts, should bring those along to the exam.

Insurance may not cover school, sports or camp physicals. Miller notes, “At Health Partnership Clinic, we accept cash, check or credit card. In addition, our staff can assist in enrolling children in KanCare/Medicaid and discuss our sliding fee program, same day cash discount and payment plan options.”

The clinic relocated in February and provides well and sick baby and child check-ups, immunizations, medications, dental care and behavioral health services.

The clinic is now open five days a week, Monday-Friday. The provider staff includes Miller along with Cindy Daugherty, MD, the first and only board-certified pediatrician in Franklin County, who sees children exclusively on Thursdays, as well as Nader Rastgoftar, DDS. The team provides well and sick baby and child checkups, immunizations, medications, dental care and behavioral health services.

The new site features four spacious medical exam rooms and two state-of-the-art dental stations, a large and roomy reception area and plenty of parking in the rear. Patients should enter through the rear door when accessing the clinic. Wheelchair accessibility is available at the front entrance.
