Dr. Jeffery Burns to Talk About Current Alzheimer’s Disease Treatments at JCPIA Special Event

Special meeting is free and open to the public

Independence, Mo., March 27, 2017– Dr. Jeffrey Burns, co-director of the University of Kansas Alzheimer’s Disease Center, will talk about the latest treatments and prevention techniques in Alzheimer’s Disease research at a special meeting on Tuesday, April 4 of Jackson County Professional In Aging. The meeting, which is free and open to the public, is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Blue Springs, 4500 Little Blue Pkwy., Independence, Mo.

Dr. Burns is internationally known for his research on lifestyle impacts of Alzheimer’s. He will present the latest advances and importance of clinical trials in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The University of Kansas Alzheimer’s Disease Center of one of 32 designated by the National Institute of Health.

As part of the event, a free CEU credit hour will be available for social workers.

Jackson County Professionals In Aging (JCPIA) is composed of many diverse organizations who work with seniors throughout the Kansas City area. JCPIA provides an opportunity for those individuals serving seniors to come together for professional networking and development with the purpose of elevating the quality of life of those they serve.
