TRADERS WORKSHOP on CASHLESS LITERACY held As the whole country is moving towards digital economy, dibrugarh district is also not to be left behind. Riding high on the Digital India Initiative, the district administration under the leadership of ADC Shri Oinam Sarankumar Singh and VLE Shri Anirban Choudhury representing National Training Partner DARWIN has embarked on the mission of making Dibrugarh a digitally enabled district. As a first step towards, attempt is being made to make all the merchants/traders of the town area of the district capital digitally enabled. Joining in the efforts are the various proactive traders association of the town. Noteworthy to mention that Mr.Ram Niwas Swami, Secretary of Dibrugarh Wholeseller’s Association and Mr.Ashok Singhania, President, Dibrugarh Chanber of Commerce have made special efforts to reach out to the members/representative of the various traders association of the district and mobilize them for the training. A thorough and practical training-cum-motivation workshop was conducted on the 21st of March, 2017 at the Conference Hall of Dibrugarh Town Marwary Aushadhalaya which witnessed representation from the various traders association of the district. Dr.Choudhury elucidated the need and importance of business going digital and how in the long run it benefits both the merchants and consumers equally. He appealed to all to collectively participate in the DIGITAL DIBRUGARH mission. All participants present on the occasion had pledged support for the campaign and installed the BHIM App and few e-wallets on their phones on the spot. They also pledged that all members of the trading community would install both the UPI and E-Wallet and make the option available to desirous customers. Information is being meted out to all traders to join in the mission and collective make the mission a success. QR Code of the Bhim app and Digital Dibrugarh pledge sticker is being put up in all the shops to express their solidarity in the mission. This indeed augurs well for the public and economy as a whole.
