Bethany College honors alumni

LINDSBORG, KAN., March 7, 2017 – Bethany College will honor seven of its alumni at the Spring Alumni Awards Luncheon during Palm Sunday weekend. The awards recognize outstanding achievement and service to society by Bethany graduates. This year’s awards include: Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award – Carl Quarnstrom ’50 and Betty (Hedlund) Quarnstrom ’50 of Topeka; Distinguished Graduate Award (posthumously) – Merle Shogren ‘51; Award of Merit – Jenny (Peck) Paulseen ’72 of Wichita, Lan Nelson ’71 of Lindsborg, and Leo Schell ’55 of Manhattan, Kansas; Gold Award – Brandon Draper ’01 of Kansas City, Missouri. The awards luncheon takes place on April 8 at 12:30 p.m. in Lindquist Hall on the Bethany College campus. Reservations for the lunch are required by April 3 and can be made by contacting the Alumni Office at (785) 227-3380, ext. 8270. Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
