Inaugural Foodie Chick Event hits the streets of Park Place in Leawood this summer
Leawood, KS - Chick Events pops up their newest event concept this summer at Park Place in Leawood, KS.
Chick Events has been hosting pop-up events since 2014, specializing in bringing handmade, vintage and artisan food vendors to thousands of shoppers who love handmade goods and love to support shopping small and shopping local.
Chick Events owner Aimee Jacobson is thrilled to bring her newest concept to Kansas City foodies this summer with the inaugural Foodie Chick Event July 22nd. “This event will tie in everything we love about Kansas City and will be a KC tasting experience like no other. Ticketed guests will not only get to taste amazing food, wine, beer and coffee but they will vote for their favorites, crowning the Foodie Choice winners. And no event would be a Chick Event without incredible shopping so expect local artisan food makers there to tempt you with their prized recipes”.
Local restaurants will include Pig & Finch, The Grille at Park Place, 801 Chophouse, Martin City Brewing Company, Best Regards Bakery, Enjoy Pure Food + Drink, Jon Russells BBQ and many more and will compete for the event’s “Best Bite” contest. Kansas wineries including Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery, KC Wine Co., Holy Field Vineyard & Winery, Rowe Ridge Vineyard & Winery, Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery and White Tail Run Vineyard & Winery will compete for the “Best Red” and “Best White”. Local KC breweries including Red Crow Brewing Co., Martin City Brewing Co., Crane Brewing and Gordon Biersch will compete for “Best Craft Beer”. Coffee lovers will indulge and vote for “Best Brew” from locals like Parisi, Mother Earth Coffee, Blue Monarch Coffee, Java Brothers and more. The list of participating local businesses continues to grow!
The Marketplace section of the Foodie Chick Event will feature local food artisans, including Shatto Milk, Borgman’s Dairy Farm, Green Dirt Farm, Dez Nuts, Hugo Tea Company and newcomers to the KC food world like Maed Cookies and Cedar Street Toffee. Guests will have the opportunity to sample, meet the makers and buy local artisan food and other products to enhance their love for cooking, dining, drinking and entertaining.
VIP Tasting Experiences include Wine & Cheese (sponsored by KC Wine Co. & Green Dirt Farm), Beer & Bites (sponsored by Gordon Biersch) and Whiskey & Donuts (sponsored by Union Horse Distilling Co. & Donutology). Meet the makers and learn more about each business and their handcrafted products.
Ticket sales benefits local non-profit partner NewHouse. The mission of Newhouse is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing the tools that allow women to make positive choices and lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.
