Guilherme Fadlalla to Head New KCC Soccer Program

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (February 22, 2017) – Kansas Christian College (KCC) announced this week the hiring of Coach Guilherme Fadlalla as Director of Soccer and Men's Head Soccer Coach. Coach Gui ("Ghee") spent last season serving as the Assistant Coach and Interim Head Coach of a fourth tier Brazilian professional soccer team. He holds a Brazilian professional coaching license, equivalent to the NSCAA National Diploma. Coach Gui was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and played collegiate soccer Missouri Valley College, San Jose State University, and Spring Arbor University. He was awarded the NCCAA All-American and NAIA All-American titles. He graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in Exercise and Sports Science in 2008 and from Liberty University with a Masters in Theology in 2011.
Coach Gui, with his wife Elissa, has dedicated several years to Christian ministry in the São Paulo slums. He founded Real Fire FC, a soccer club for at-risk youth and co-founded and pastored 2ou+ (Two or More) House Church, as well as serving at Athletic Director and Bible teacher at Pan American Christian Academy. “I was ecstatic to meet Gui and learn about his passion for Jesus, youth, and soccer,” says Athletic Director John Janssen. “He is mission-minded and understands how to use athletics as a tool to share the gospel. He has literally moved hundreds of miles to fulfill this calling, and I look forward to how far he can figuratively lead our soccer program.” The KCC Falcons will inaugurate the school’s soccer program with the 2017 season. Coach Gui will begin recruiting immediately. Interested students are encouraged to email or to call (913) 722-0272. Established in 1938, KCC has long been a fixture in Overland Park, Kan., at the corner of 74th St. and Metcalf Ave., where it shares a campus with its sister school, Overland Christian. The college offers degrees in religion, pastoral ministry, teacher education, worship ministry, missions, biblical studies, business leadership, and general studies as well as degrees in performance music through its music school. In 2015 they also began offering a ministry and leadership degree online.
