50 Plus Plans Adventure Walk to visit Missouri's Weston Bend State Park on Feb. 25

Enjoy an easy and pleasant stroll near Weston, Mo., during an Adventure Walk being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Start your morning in the picturesque town of Weston, walking past charming stores and restaurants.

After that, the trail continues up a small road and into the 1,100+ acre state park with views of the Missouri River. Lunch will take place at the Tin Kitchen in Weston.

This outing is considered an easy walk. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under nature & outdoors. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “adventure walk.”

This program will leave from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, and return about 5 p.m. the same day. The cost for one eight-hour outing, including transportation, is $27 per person for Johnson County residents or $30 for nonresidents. Lunch costs are on your own.

For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at ww w.jcprd.com, click on the green “Register for Activities” button and complete a barcode search for 37033.

Printed copies of JCPRD’s Activities catalog are available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
