Metropolitan Energy Center Offers 3 Discounts & Rebates For Electric And Clean-Fuel Drivers
February 10, 2017 - KANSAS CITY. Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) is coordinating three separate incentive programs to boost clean transportation in and around Kansas City, and across much of the state of Kansas – and they’re all programs designed to put dollars in your pocket.
Biodiesel Consumer Rebate The Kansas Soybean Commission is offering direct rebates for individuals and companies using biodiesel in Kansas. Now, individuals can get $1.00 for each gallon of B5 (Biodiesel content 5%) or higher biodiesel they use in a year. For fleets, the deal is even sweeter – up to $2,000 per year for fleets using B10 blends or higher. The rebate program is about as simple as it could be; all you need to do is save your receipts, fill out a simple form and return it by mail with your receipts. You’ll need to buy at least 20 gallons to apply, but don’t worry: just combine receipts from multiple purchases as needed to hit the 20-gallon target. For fleet and retail customers alike, you’ll find all the information you need, plus downloadable rebate forms, on MEC’s website.
Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Rebate There’s another rebate up and running for drivers converting from gasoline or diesel to cleaner, less expensive natural gas. Kansas Gas Service is offering a $1,000 rebate per vehicle for any of their customers investing in dedicated or bi-fuel natural gas cars or trucks. These rebates apply to any purchases or conversions made after April 2, 2016, and will continue until funding runs out. The $167,000 fund is part of a pilot project in partnership with Kansas City Regional Clean Cities, which is hosted by MEC. Just visit the Kansas Gas Service homepage to download a program application, and to review complete program terms and conditions.
Nissan LEAF Group Purchase Discounts Finally, MEC, in partnership with Nissan NA, KCP&L and Kansas City, Missouri, is promoting a $10,000 manufacturer’s discount on the all-electric 2017 Nissan LEAF. Cooperating KC metro dealers are part of a group purchase program offering this deep discount on purchases of the five-passenger sedan. In combination with up to $7,500 in federal tax credits you could pay as little as $16,000 for a new car that will never need gasoline. To access this outstanding deal, visit our web site for additional program details and the flier you’ll need to take advantage of the discount. You’ll want to move quickly – this amazing opportunity only lasts through March 31, 2017.
