Gardens at Sunset Fundraiser to benefit Kansas City Community Gardens September 10th

GARDENS AT SUNSET TICKETS AVAILABLE Kansas City, MO, – Kansas City Community Gardens (KCCG) is once again bringing its signature fundraising event to the beautiful Beanstalk Children’s Garden for an evening of music, food and drink, unique silent auction items, cooking demonstrations and more.

This year, Gardens at Sunset will focus on Kids in the Garden and KCCGs children’s programs. Reaching out across the metro, KCCG is working with schools, clubs, churches, moms, dads and grandparents raise the next generation of green thumbs.

Last year: •3,100 kids, teachers and parents visited KCCG’s Beanstalk Children’s Garden;
•179 Schoolyard Gardens harvested, ate and donated their own vegetable gardens with KCCG’s help;
•27 Youth Gardens, one of KCCG’s newest programs, helped teens grow and harvest healthy food to share with families, safe houses and food pantries; Each of these programs has kids asking, “When are we going to the garden?”

Funds raised from this event will help KCCG continue to operate and expand these programs, along with helping thousands of low-income Kansas Citians through KCCG’s Community Partner Gardens, Self-Help Gardens, Community Garden sites and The Giving Grove edible trees program.

Tickets are $75 per person, partially tax-deductible and can be purchased at www.kccg.org/gardensatsunset.
