19th annual Union Hill Garden Tour slated June 8
The 19th Annual Union Hill Garden Tour will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The easily walkable tour features over a dozen residential and community gardens in a six block area. Free parking is available at the entrance of the tour in the KCPT parking lot at 31st and Grand. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (over age 60). Kids under 12 are free. Plants will be available for purchase along the tour route and many tour participants are available to discuss their gardens. Admission automatically enters you in a drawing for gift certificates to local businesses. One half of the proceeds will go the Union Cemetery Historical Society.
A string quartet will be playing in a beautiful garden setting in the gazebo from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. After the tour, you are invited to attend a two for one Flower Power Brunch & Lunch at Barrel 31 (31st & Oak). Drink specials will be available on the newly remodeled patio.
