Two dates mark the 158th Anniversary of the Battle of Black Jack

Dawn at Black Jack: Join us at 5:00 a.m. on June 2nd, to experience the Battle of Black Jack through a solemn walk and talk by park staff at the exact time and date the battle occurred in 1856. This is truly a unique event. No admission is charged although donations are always appreciated. Please arrive no later than 4:45 a.m.

Battle of Black Jack Commemoration: Experience the Battle of Black Jack through interactive tours on Saturday, June 7th. The Battle of Black Jack is considered the first battle between opposing forces over the issue of slavery which lead to the coming Civil War. Learn about this exciting and important time in history as you are entertained by John Brown and W.B. Brockett, who represent both sides in the heated battle. Tour times are at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. No admission is charged although donations are always appreciated.

Black Jack Nature Park Tour: Be guided by a naturalist through our vast trail system as natural features are pointed out. Tour time at 1:00 p.m. No admission is charged although donations are always appreciated.

Robert Hall Pearson 1890 Farmhouse: Open for viewing all day after undergoing an extensive stabilization project.
