The 27th anniversary of the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury will be held Memorial Day May 26, at 8am at Loose Park in Kansas City, Missouri. The run winds through some of Kansas City’s most scenic neighborhoods as well as beautiful Loose Park. Enjoy music, food and drink while you experience one of Kansas City’s Memorial Day traditions. Also, in celebration of it’s 150th year, everyone has an opportunity to visit Mayo Clinic’s interactive trailer exhibit. There’s an 8K, a 5K run/walk, a 1 mile untimed benefit Walk for Thought, and the day finishes with a Kiddie Dash. Awards will be given to the top overall Male, Female and Masters winners in both the 8K and 5K. The top 3 finishers in each age division in the 8K and 5K, male and female, will receive awards and all age group winners will receive a custom medal. Price for registration will go up on May 15 and packet pickup will be at Gary Gribbles Running Sports in Ward Parkway Shopping Center, 8600 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO on Saturday May 24 from 10am-5pm and Sunday May 25 from 12pm-4pm. Registration on race day will be at Loose Park Pavilion from 6:30am until 15 minutes prior to each event time. The event benefits the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City, who provides vital programs offering resources, support and education for survivors, loved ones, and professionals in our community.
