Shawnee Merchants work for American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Shawnee merchants face a tough market with Johnson drive closed, but they still work together for the good of the community. Many have provided generous donations for door prizes, raffles and silent auction items.
The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Shawnee is one of the primary sources of funding for research, education and survivor support. Each Relay for Life around the country provides an uplifting source of recreation, tribute and energy that helps those stricken with cancer.
One stand out retailer is Encore Boutique at 11006 Johnson Dr in downtown Shawnee Kansas. Encore is hosting a Girls Night Out on Wednesday, May 21st from 5:00 to 8:00. 10% of all the sales from more than a dozen vendors will be donated to the Relay for Life. Clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, home décor and baby clothing are all available. Jewelry from prominent local Kansas City designer Erin Paige Stegman will be featured along with art work by Ruthie Becker.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided, and raffle prizes will be sure to catch your interest. You can make a donation for raffle tickets ahead of time, and you don’t have to be present to win.
Please contact Tamara Smith Hudson at 913-268-5393 for additional details. She may also be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and www.encorekc.com
No reservations are required and everyone is invited to bring friends and family along.
