Kansas City executives connect for job, business growth
3rd Annual Career Event Features KC’s Top EXECS
KANSAS CITY, MO. May 9, 2014. Jobs, Business and Connections. It’s all here. The 100 Black Men of Greater Kansas City and TWELVE Magazine invite professionals and organizations to be a part of the 3rd Annual Network with the 100. This is a unique networking experience Tuesday evening, June 10, 2014, at UMKC, Pierson Auditorium, 5000 Holmes Rd, KCMO, 5:30p-8:30p. The event begins with open mic announcements and exhibits and features over twenty leading companies and hundreds of professionals in top industries. Both job seekers and those interested in developing business are encouraged to attend. To RSVP or secure a booth, interested parties should visit network100.kcsoul.com or email: email@example.com. This networking event is specifically designed to assist area professionals and recent college graduates in making “life changing” connections. After all, it’s the right relationships that lead to true success. The live format helps forge these relationships. In addition to a standard business card exchange expected at networking events, back by popular demand, the event features a unique EXECUTIVE Speed Networking session at the event. African-Americans ranging from directors and VP to even chiefs, participate from the country’s top businesses and brands such as UMB, Hallmark, Sprint, Cerner, Truman Medical Center and AMC Theatres, to name a few. Participants meet five minutes with a room full of executives and may ask for career advice, a resume preview, seek industry insights or maybe even pitch an idea. It’s mutually beneficial, since executives may also come across contacts that could be a resource to them personally or professionally. In addition to Executive Speed networking, the event includes exhibits by employers and separate workshops for job seekers and those interested in business opportunities. Another feature is onsite business counseling—“Business Growth” featuring experts skilled in developing and growing businesses. Moreover, participants are encouraged to bring portfolios or portable drives to demo their work. Brian Foster, 100 Black Men of Greater KC Chapter president, states “This event is just one of our efforts to support community Economic Empowerment, one of our organization’s core pillars. Moreover, in a society where racial stereotypes plague the community, and skew perceptions, this event relays to the community at-large that African-Americans are in positive, leadership positions, building businesses and communities worldwide.” For complete event details and RSVP visit network100.kcsoul.com.
