Nguygen Hauls Massive Limit In Mozingo Lake Win

The Smithville Bassmasters recently held their third tournament of the year at Mozingo Lake, Saturday April 26th. Despite high winds, Jin Nguygen pulled off a win with a hefty five fish limit of almost identical black bass that pushed the scales to an impressive 22.02 pounds.

“I had my limit early and I was able to upgrade throughout the day,” said Nguyen of his day. (photo attached – photo credit Jerry McVey)

Josh McIntire was a close second with a limit weighing in at 20.85 pounds. McIntire’s bag included the tournament’s big bass that tipped the scales at 5.79 pounds.

Jeff Saunders took home the prize for third with a limit weighing 13.20 pounds.

Most of the anglers reported a good bite with many catching twenty or more fish during the event.

The Smithville Bassmasters’ next monthly meeting will be Tuesday, May 6th, 6:30pm at the Smithville Pizza Hut. Pairings for the next two tournaments to be held at Smithville Lake, May 10th and Truman Lake, May 17th will take place at this meeting. New and current members are welcome to attend.
