Kansas City Started a Worldwide Event - Held This Saturday 4/26 at Nelson-Atkins Museum
This Saturday 4/26 is World Tai Chi & Qigong Day - In Over 80 Nations - 50 US States - An Event STARTED RIGHT HERE IN KANSAS CITY 15 years ago.
This Saturday the world will breathe together for health & healing. Beginning in the earliest time zones in New Zealand mass Tai Chi and Qigong teach-ins and exhibitions will be held across NZ, and then spreading around the planet through 80 nations.
15 YEARS AGO THE VERY 1ST EVENT WAS HELD ON THE SOUTH LAWN OF THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM, WHICH INSPIRED WHAT HAS NOW BECOME A GLOBAL EVENT.
THIS SATURDAY 4/26 ON THE SOUTH LAWN OF THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM AT 10 AM WE WILL BE DOING TAI CHI WITH THE WORLD OF EVENTS KANSAS CITY INSPIRED.
THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. AN EVENT TO EDUCATE ABOUT THE PROFOUND HEALTH BENEFITS OF TAI CHI AND QIGONG, AND AN EVENT THAT BRINGS THE WORLD TOGETHER FOR THE PURPOSE OF PERSONAL AND GLOBAL HEALTH & HEALING.

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is the last Saturday of April each year (see Chase Calendar of Events), and events have been held in all 50 US States from the Alaskan glaciers to the Florida glades. This extraordinary health education and human connection happening's motto is "One World ... One Breath," and it has captured the world's imagination. Events are free and open to the public.
As well as fully organized events in many nations, Tai Chi FLASH MOBS are held worldwide. Antwerp, Belgium's main train station had a beautiful experience of the rat race coming to a halt as Tai Chi players suddenly converged in the central station. See the video below the BBC coverage video below.

Today, the Governor of Florida, and the Mayor of Austin, Texas just proclaimed World Tai Chi & Qigong Day for their state/city, joining governors of 22 US states who have already proclaimed this event's date for their states. The senates of New York, Puerto Rico, and California have proclaimed it, as well as last year Brazil's National Council of Deputies.

The health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong are profound, and World Tai Chi & Qigong Day organizers have worked to expand Tai Chi and Qigong usage into the heart of modern healthcare, in such venues as Harvard Medical School and the University of Kansas Hospital. The Founders of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day are Bill Douglas and Angela Wong Douglas. Bill was born and raised in Kansas, and Angela's from Hong Kong, but now a US citizen. They co-authored "The Complete Idiot's Guide to T'ai Chi & Qigong" (Penguin/Alpha Books, 4th edition), and have traveled the globe, mostly at their own expense, to promote this amazing worldwide health education and healing event.
It began 15 years ago with the first event in Kansas City, and then captured the world's imagination and events began organizing in Cairo, Egypt; Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Israel; Brazilia, Brazil; London, England; Omsk, Russia; Indonesia; etc. etc.
