Are you Spring cleaning your closets for Rose Brooks Center? Now's the time! Our World's Window 9th annual "Flipping Favorites" clothing drive is in full swing and the staff at World's Window is aiming for the most successful clothing gathering ever. The Rose Brooks benefit "Flipping Favorites" Grand Finale Party is Thursday, May 8, but first hundreds of new and gently?used clothing need to be collected and readied for the party.
Jan Buerge, owner of World’s Window says, “So right now it's your turn! Look for those lovely, but rarely worn items that have somehow moved to the back of your closet. Are you changing sizes? Made some buying mistakes? A perpetual bargain hunter? Closets stuffed full? Well, pull them out and bring them in. That's what we want - the new and nearly new timeless and excellent quality items that someone else can love.” Those choice items will both raise money for Rose Brooks Center and help World's Window re?stock Rosie's Closet for the women who enter the shelter to start a new life.
Rose Brooks has been the primary focus of the store’s charitable efforts in recent years. “It’s a terrific partnership,” says Marla Svoboda, Chief Development Officer of Rose Brooks. “They help keep the needs of women and children in crisis on the local radar. It’s wonderful when women come together to help other women.”
Tower Cleaners has again agreed to clean those few items that need some touching up, but World's Window really wants donations to arrive at their store clean and on hangars. And, ladies, check over your donations carefully. Please, no holes, no stains, no hems falling out, no missing buttons. After all, the women at Rose Brooks deserve the best!
In exchange for your donations, World's Window will give you a Golden Ticket for your free entry to our Grand Finale Party on Thursday, May 8. It promises to be their biggest party ever - hundreds of donated clothing items at $10 each, prizes and drawings, 20% discounts throughout our store, live music, and great food.
It will be like digging in your girlfriends' closets. And partying the way only girlfriends know to party. So, find those clothing donations and drop them off at World's Window, 332 W 63rd Street in Brookside. Then plan to attend the Grand Finale Party on Thursday, May 8 when they are going to "Party Like It's 1984!!" for the World's Window 30th anniversary and for the women at Rose Brooks Center.
