Local Teen Receives Prestigious Title “Champion of Young Children”

LOCAL TEEN RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS TITLE “CHAMPION OF YOUNG CHILDREN”

Overland Park, KS - This Wednesday Tyler Nelson, a 17 yr. old race car driver and proud member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, will be publicly acknowledged by All Around Child, Center for Exploration & Development and their young students for his contributions as a community leader and advocate during the Week of the Young Child. The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 80,000 members and a network of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates. Part of celebrating it includes honoring Children's Champions. This event will honor and award Tyler Nelson the title of "Champion of Young Children".

Tyler Nelson has made it his mission to help children, teens, and young adults through his nonprofit KC Kids on Track. The organization offers peer-to-peer mentoring, scholarships, and funds for causes that enhance the lives of children. Nelson also helps families through his Rapid Response Network. This network of anonymous business owners donate their goods, services, or time to help families in need. The Rapid Response Network provides relief to families who might not have the resources to take care of small problems that could lead into bigger problems.
