Legendary Kansas City Restaurant Celebrates Milestone
25 years ago, Michael Garozzo’s fulfilled a lifelong dream. On April 7, 1989, Michael opened Garozzo’s Ristorante at 526 Harrison in Kansas City’s historic Columbus Park neighborhood, With Michael's signature creation Chicken Spiedini on the menu, the restaurant was a smash hit from the start.The rest is KC culinary history.
This week, Garozzo’s Ristorante is thrilled to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The Italian institution, famous for the finest ingredients and very generous portions, has been patronized by galaxy of stars; everyone from Tony Bennett and Paul Newman to Kid Rock -- all with pictures on Michael's legendary "Wall of Fame." .
During this historic week, Michael will be available for media appearances. He will discuss his most famous customers, his rise from waiter to famed restaurateur, and the award-winning cuisine that made it all possible
To mark the silver celebration, patrons will get a special gift. As a way of saying thank you to the customers he considers an extended family, Michael is offering all those who dine at any Garozzo’s location on Monday April 7th a rare and generous discount – a full 25% off their total food bill. For this one day only, no reservations will be taken. Those wishing to attend are advised to make plans early.
Garozzo’s Ristorante is also hosting a gala celebration on Sunday night April 6th, 2014. For this one special evening, the downtown Garozzo’s location will be closed for a private, sold-out wine-and-dinner extravaganza. This extraordinary night includes a five-course dinner and and a different, fine Italian wine paired with each course. Attending will be more than two decades worth of great customers and friends, including local luminaries like Carl Peterson, Steve Palermo and the Mayor of Kansas City, the Honorable Sly James.
