Winston Apple Kicks Off His Campaign To Change the World and Save the Human Race

[INDEPENDENCE, MO] - On Tuesday, April 1st, I will formally announce my candidacy for the Missouri House, representing the 29th District. If elected, I will be honored to represent the people of my district. However, my ambitions are much greater than winning election to the Missouri House.

Our state, our nation, and our world are facing serious problems that have gone unaddressed for far too long. It’s time to put solutions in place.

I may not have all the answers, but I believe that I have quite a few. I will outline those solutions briefly in a speech (“Won’t Get Fooled Again”) that I will deliver at 5 pm on Tuesday, April 1st, from the east steps of the Jackson County Historic Courthouse on Main Street in Independence.

Following my speech, my wife Mary and I will walk two blocks west to Cafe Verona (206 West Lexington) for dinner. Arrangements have been made for up to 56 friends, strangers, family members and members of the press to join us. Reservations are recommended. To make a reservation phone the restaurant directly at (816) 833-0044. If you make a reservation and your plans change, please call back and cancel your reservation as soon as possible. We anticipate a full house and a waiting list.

The idea behind this event (“Let’s Discuss This Over Dinner”) is that it will give people an opportunity to make comments or ask me, or each other, questions without the usual pressure to be brief. While at dinner I will speak only when spoken to, and for the most part will simply listen to what voters have to say.

The dinner is BYOM (Buy Your Own Meal). It is not a fund-raiser. Attendees will order from the regular menu at regular menu prices. All of the money paid for meals goes to the restaurant.

I will conclude the evening by performing a comedy monologue at The Main Street Coffeehouse (107 S. Main) beginning at approximately 8:15 p.m.

This is not politics as usual.
