Annual Zumbathon® Benefits March of Dimes Kansas Chapter
More than 10 local Zumba® instructors will come together for a night of fitness fun to raise funds and awareness for the March of Dimes® Kansas Chapter.
Kansas City, Mo. – The time has come to lace up and get down for the 3rd Annual Zumba® 4 Babies Zumbathon® on Friday, April 4, 2014. Sponsored by SIAB Fitness, the Zumba® 4 Babies Zumbaton® benefits the March of Dimes® Kansas Chapter, ensuring all monies raised stay in the Kansas City area. The event will be held from 6:30PM to 8:00PM at 1001 Bennington, Kansas City, Mo., in Historic Northeast Kansas City. Tickets for the event are available for $10 in advance online at www.SIABFitness.com or though participating Zumba® instructors, and $15 the day of the event. All participants will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a variety of door prizes. Lisa Dominguez, owner of SIAB Fitness, initially organized the Zumba® 4 Babies Zumbaton® as a way to acknowledge an organization that had given her so much in a time of need. Dominguez gave birth to her firstborn baby boy 2.5 months prematurely in 2011. It was only after the March of Dimes® Kansas Chapter presented Dominguez and her husband with a special Thanksgiving dinner that she realized what it meant to have a premature baby. He spent 40 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. “He’s now crazier than ever,” Dominguez says with a laugh and smile. “But I will never forget all the support and resources the March of Dimes gave my family.” In its third year running, the Zumba® 4 Babies Zumbaton® strives not only to raise funds, but also awareness about the March of Dimes® mission to help mom have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies. March of Dimes Kansas Chapter will sponsor its annual March for Babies® Walk on Sunday, May 4. Zumba® 4 Babies Zumbaton® participants will have the opportunity register for the annual walk on April 4, or may do so separately by visiting http://www.marchofdimes.com/kansas/.
