25th Annual Love Fund for Children Golf Classic

Leawood, KS, June 23rd, 2014 – The 25th Annual Love Fund Golf Classic will be held at Ironhorse Golf Club…one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the region. The event will benefit Kansas City’s Love Fund for Children, a not-for-profit organization providing assistance to area children 18 and under. The event will take place at Ironhorse Golf Club, 15400 Mission Rd., Leawood, KS 66224. Registration begins at 10:00a.m.; shotgun start at noon.
Since its inception in 1990, the tournament has raised more than one million dollars for the Love Fund, as well as heightened community awareness of the Love Fund mission. It has grown into one of the top charity events in the region. In 2014, the Love Fund Golf Classic has been selected to partner with the Lexus Champions for Charity Program. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Love Fund for Children. The Love Fund works to ensure children, age 18 and younger, in Kansas City and surrounding communities have the necessities for growing, learning and living. Since 1982, the Love Fund has improved the quality of life for children in need when funding from other sources was not available, and has assisted more than 100,000 children. “The proceeds enable us to provide various types of comfort and care to many children that might not receive assistance,” said Love Fund Executive Director, Lisa Herron. People who cannot attend the event can make a donation by contacting the Love Fund for Children (contact information above). The Golf Classic is open to the public. Registration and check-in will begin at 10:00a.m. Individual players are $150 and foursome is $600.
