Filmmakers raise their voice for positive change in Kansas City youth

Northpass Media, in conjunction with Youth Ambassadors released "We Are Somebody" today, a short documentary about the challenges and situations that many Kansas City youth face on a daily basis. The film is a collection of stories written and voiced by kids that live in some of Kansas City’s toughest neighborhoods. Different from you and I only in circumstances and maybe a few blocks of geography, we still share common interests. The film asks a simple question: like all of us, these youth have dreams and ideas for themselves so how are we empowering them? There is no illusion that any single one of us will change the world, but if we change the story for one of these kids we begin to progress as a society. Filmed over the course of one month "We Are Somebody" offers the viewer raw exposure into the souls of these youth and their battles. The film is an official selection of the Kansas City FilmFest and premieres Thursday, April 10th at 8:00pm at the Cinemark on the Plaza.
