Wildwood Announces New Program Director

LA CYGNE, KS March 12, 2014 – Wildwood Outdoor Education Center announced today that Hank Hapka has been named Program Director and will oversee the design and implementation of the various programs offered by the organization. Hank, a Johnson County native, began his experience with Wildwood as a camper at age 8. He has since graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science in May 2013. Hank officially joined Wildwood as a staff member in the spring of 2013 when he served as the Adventure Challenge Course Facilitator. Wildwood management quickly recognized the value Hank brought to the organization and hired him full time to take over the programming projects as Program Director in November 2013.

About Wildwood Outdoor Education Center Wildwood offers opportunities to build confidence, develop essential life and interpersonal skills, and increase hands-on academic knowledge in a safe environment. In 1980, Bob Allen, Marjorie Powell Allen and Mr. & Mrs. George Powell donated the beautiful 150-acre facility that is now Wildwood. The mission is to serve youth from Kansas City's urban core. Wildwood programs and facilities are unique in the area and are utilized by schools, businesses and families throughout the region
