Burlesque Legend TEMPEST STORM returns to the Folly Theater!

KANSAS CITY, MO (MARCH 7, 2014) -
Kansas City will once again be entertained by beautiful Burlesque performers from all around the world at the historic Folly Theater! Burlesque Legend Tempest Storm, who once graced the historic Folly Stage during the heyday of Burlesque, will return to make a rare appearance to support the festival as both a Judge for the competition to crown the 2014 Queen of Kansas City Burlesque, and to participate in a Q&A with other Stars of the KC Burlesque Festival to answer questions about Burlesque from the public.
Headlining performers of the festival include competition title holders in Burlesque: Ginger Valentine, the New Orleans Queen of Burlesque 2011 (Dallas, TX), Missy Lisa, the Miss Viva Las Vegas 2013 Burlesque Competition Winner (Dallas, TX), Angi B. Lovely, the New Orleans Queen of Burlesque 2012 (Dallas, TX), and the 2013 reigning Queen of Kansas City Burlesque, Iva Handfull (Seattle, WA).
Variety and Burlesque performers will delight and entertain with their exotic talents including Aerial Silks, Fire Eating, Contortion Performance, Magic and Illusion, and Comedy! With Friday’s pre-show live music provided by Kansas City’s own The Late Night Callers, and Saturday’s performer competition accompaniment provided by the legendary Dave Stephens Band!
Thursday, May 1st, 8:00pm - Opening Night Gala Performance and Party
The Kansas City Burlesque Festival will kick off the weekend early Thursday night at The Kill Devil Club with musical host Chris Holbrook (Kansas City, MO) featuring a variety of incredible Burlesque performers throughout the evening.
Friday, May 2nd, 7:00pm – Spectactularly Burlesque at the Folly!
Kansas City will receive a rare treat when The Late Night Callers perform their own original music between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Then at 8:00pm, Naughty Pierre of Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret in Denver, CO will take the stage and guide Kansas City through an evening they’ll never forget, filled with a variety of Performance Artists and Burlesque Performers from coast to coast and around the world!
Saturday, May 3rd, 5:00pm - Q&A With TEMPEST STORM and the Stars of the KC Burlesque Festival at the Folly!
Fans of the history of Burlesque will have a rare opportunity to meet the legendary Tempest Storm and ask a panel of professionals in the Burlesque Arts questions, learning more about the history of Burlesque and where the revival of this art form is going than they could find in any book.
Saturday, May 3rd, 8:00pm –Burlesque Competition & Showcase at the Folly!
Our panel of judges will select the best performance and crown our 2014 Queen of Kansas City Burlesque! 2014 Judges include the amazing Burlesque Legend Ms. Tempest Storm, star of stage and screen Ms. Stephanie Blake, Kansas City’s own and valuable sponsor of the 2014 KC Burlesque Fest Mr. Marshall Rimann of Rimann Liqours, and Burlesque Festival producers from across the country including Mr. Rick Delaup (New Orleans, LA), Lola van Ella (St. Louis, MO), Ms. Ginger Valentine (Dallas, TX), and Mr. Naughty Pierre (Denver, CO).
