MCC instructors, students receive statewide honors

MCC instructors and students received honors presented by the Missouri Community College Association yesterday in Jefferson City. Five instructors received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and four students were named to the All-Missouri Academic Team.

The Excellence in Teaching Award includes a proclamation from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. The honorees included: •Becky Schuering, mathematics instructor, MCC-Blue River •David Grady, machine tool instructor, MCC-Business & Technology •Rory Perrodin, automotive technology instructor, MCC-Longview •Dr. Chris Morrow, veterinary technology instructor, MCC-Maple Woods •Greg Sanford, history instructor, MCC-Penn Valley

The All-Missouri Academic Team recognizes the state’s top community college students. Each student received a scholarship made possible by a donation from MOHELA, the state’s not-for-profit secondary market lender and servicer in the student loan industry. It was bestowed on the following students:

•Heather Jochens, MCC?Longview •Travis Leader, MCC-Longview •Crystal Nevins, MCC-Blue River •Tiffani Ohmer, MCC-Blue River
