Private Universities Come to KC for Free, One Day College Expo

Private Universities Come to KC for Free, One Day College Expo. 2014 Midwest College Expo is Saturday, March 1.

The region's largest private education expo will take place for one day only–Saturday, March 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114.

For 16 years the free expo has brought together students, parents and colleges from over 20 states and it continues to grow. Many of the colleges are faith-based like ORU, Southwest Baptist, and Liberty University in Virginia, plus schools like Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. that celebrate a faith-based heritage. Parents and students will be able to meet with college admissions reps in person and ask the questions they need answered. Plus, college-bound students will find detailed financial aid and course offering information. Questions students often have include: What kind of social life does the college and community offer? Does my current college credit transfer? What question do you have?

Plus, the free expo includes a free mini-seminar on Getting the Most Financial Aid and another on Preparing for College–both taught by experienced university administrators.

"It is one-day parents and high school students can’t afford to miss," stated Anita Widaman, Expo Coordinator. Widaman says one big benefit is that families ca save gas and time by seeing dozens of colleges in one place.Bring your family and friends.
