Kansas School for the Blind host the 2014 Braille Challenge
The Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB), in conjunction with vision professionals from local school districts, is planning to host a regional competition for the Braille Challenge February 12th and 13th, 2014, on the KSSB campus in Kansas City, Kansas. Students with visual impairments from Kansas and the surrounding states are eligible to compete in this regional event. KSSB held its first regional Braille Challenge in 2012, drawing over 25 students from Kansas and Missouri. This year, over 40 students are anticipated to visit the campus as competitors. The top twelve students in five different age groups (60 total) are invited to Los Angeles in June to compete against each other for top honors in the National Braille Challenge. Kansas has been represented by at least one student in each of the last seven years!
