FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 6, 2014
LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER KEEPING MILITARY FAMILIES CONNECTED Contest will award expectant military mom a free birth photography session to share with deployed partner.
Lawrence, KS, February 6, 2014– Local photographer Christina Maki announced today that she will be hosting a contest for local military moms through her studio, Ad Astra Photography. The contest winner will receive a free “Hello, Baby!” birth photography session at the birth venue of their choice—hospital, birth center, or home. These photos will allow deployed partners to see an event they otherwise would not get to view.
“Military families sacrifice so much for all of us, so it only seemed fitting that I should give something back to them,” said Maki. “So many of these women have to birth alone, without their partners by their sides, and it’s hard on everybody. Having beautiful photographs of the birth to share can help them feel more connected in spite of the distance.”
Expectant mothers in the Kansas City, Lawrence, Topeka, and Ft. Leavenworth areas due from April 2014 through July 2014, with partners deployed or serving out-of-state on the estimated due date, are eligible to enter.
Information about the contest can be found at http://ad-astra-photography.com.
Since 2008, Ad Astra Photography has served the Kansas City metro, Lawrence, and Topeka areas, specializing in maternity, birth, newborn, and breastfeeding photography.
