Pee Wee Soccer League deadline is Feb. 28
Feb. 28 is the deadline for signing up for the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Pee Wee Soccer League at Stoll Park and New Century Fieldhouse. This program is designed for boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through kindergarten, ages three to six.
Like JCPRD leagues for older youth, this league's philosophy is to enrich the youth of the community via the game of soccer while enhancing participant's social skills and team play in a fun and exciting sports environment. The program will take place at Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, 12500 W. 119th St., Overland Park, and at New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner.. The Pee Wee League will meet on six Saturdays and/or Sundays for a 25-minute practice followed by a 24-minute game. Boys and girls will be on separate teams. The format is 4 v 4 with no goalie and volunteer coaches. Games begin April 5.
To find this program in the JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under leagues, and then under preschool, then under sports. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “soccer.”
The for the Stoll Park Pee Wee Soccer League cost is $67 per person. A late registration fee of $20 per person will apply after the Feb. 28 deadline and placement is no longer guaranteed after that date. If your child is new to the league, a jersey must be purchased at a cost of $15. At New Century, the cost is $40 per child until March 8, when it increases to $50, through the final deadline on March 14.
