Phillip W. Thomas Takes Office as 2014 Chairman of The Builders’ Association
Phillip W. Thomas has assumed the role of 2014 Chairman of the Board of The Builders’ Association. He has been a member of the Association’s Executive Board since 2010. He succeeds Jerry Daugherty, President of Reinhardt Construction Company, who remains an officer of the Association.
Mr. Thomas is President of A.L. Huber, Inc., an Overland Park-based general contractor which celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2013. He has a B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering and an MBA from The University of Kansas. He is Chairman of the Leadership Board of the Good Samaritan Communities of Olathe and represents The Builders’ Association on the board of the Kansas City, Kansas Area Chamber Foundation.
Other officers include Scott Kelly (Kelly Construction Group, Inc.), Vice Chairman; Gregory A. Dunn (Dun-Par Engineered Form Company), Assistant Chairman; and Scott Hoisington (Turner Construction Company), Assistant Chairman.
Directors on The Builders’ Association board include Rosana Privitera Biondo (Mark One Electric Company, Inc.); Danny Edwards (Connelly Mechanical, Inc.); Wells Haren, III (HarenLaughlin Construction); Chris Hentges (SIRCAL Contracting, Inc.); Susan McGreevy (Stinson Leonard Street LLP); Annabel Parkhurst (Modern Interiors, Inc.); David A. Ross (David E. Ross Construction Company); Dirk D. Schafer (JE Dunn Construction Company); Richard D. Smith (R.E. Smith Construction Company); and Steven P. Smith (Universal Construction Company, Inc.).
Don Greenwell is President of The Builders’ Association, which represents approximately 900 general contractor, subcontractor, supplier, and service provider member companies employing about 20,000 people. With over 125 years of service to the commercial construction industry, it also operates training and plan room service centers in Kansas City, Jefferson City and Springfield, as well as its Education & Training Center in North Kansas City. The Builders’ Association’s sister organization, the Kansas City Chapter, AGC, currently represents over 130 firms and is part of the AGC of America, the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States.
