Sandlot Draft Softball Tournament offered on Feb. 22 for adults

Kick it old style in an elementary-schoolyard-style softball tournament being offered at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District at the Mid-America Sports Complex.

This Sandlot Draft Softball Tournament is for ages 18 and older and is open to individuals who register to be drafted on teams. Each player will be allotted a minimum of three games. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, beginning at 10 a.m. This is a great warm-up for the 2014 softball season. Participants will receive a sandlot draft T-shirt and koozie.

To find this program in the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under adult and then under sports and then leagues. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “sandlot.”

The cost for one seven-hour session is $25 per player for early registration of $30 the day of the event. Mid-America Sports Complex is located at 20000 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. The registration deadline for this tournament is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20. For more, contact the adult sports coordinator at (913) 826-2900.

The JCPRD Activities catalog is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
