For Immediate Release

JOE SEVART NAMED 2014 NAPA/ASE TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR Owner of I-70 Auto Service, Kansas City, MO. Recognized for industry excellence

(Kansas City, Mo) January 2014—NAPA AUTO PARTS and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) have named Joe Sevart the 2014 NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year.

Joe Sevart, owner of I-70 Auto Service, a NAPA Auto Care Center in Kansas City, Mo., has been around cars all of his life and began working evening hours and weekends at his father’s repair shop just two miles west of Arrowhead Stadium, during his high school years. By 1983, he was running the business, at the same time realizing that he needed to know more in order to be successful. Taking advantage of any training at the time, Joe steadily improved his knowledge and surrounded himself with the best technicians he could find. He built a foundation that would take care of the customer better than anyone else in his market.

He is currently the Chairman of the Kansas City Chapter NAPA AutoCare Business Development Group (BDG), sharing his talent and leadership abilities with other NAPA AutoCare Center owners in the area. Recently, Joe served as a member (2010-2011) of the NAPA National AutoCare Advisory Council. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Automotive Technology Program at Ft. Osage Technical Center in Independence, MO., and is the President of the Kansas City Chapter of the Automotive Service Association –Midwest (ASA-Midwest).

Community involvement is also a top priority with Joe. His business maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. He performs car seat safety checks and provides free car seats to needy families in partnership with the Missouri D.O.T. Among the many community events and charities he supports, including being an active member of his church, Joe and the BDG members also have partnered with Cars for Heroes and Cars for Christmas, which provides vehicles to deserving families.
