School Day Out Art Fun program offered on Feb. 7
Winter watercolors is the theme for a School Day Out Art Fun program being presented on Feb. 7 by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This program is for ages five through 12 and is meant to help parents provide fun and engaging ways to occupy their student’s mind and hands on two no school days
The session on Feb. 7 will let participants paint and play the day away as they discover new painting techniques. The Roeland Park Community Center will host these fun activities in a safe, supervised environment. Participants will even get to swim at the dome-covered Roeland Park Aquatic Center across the parking lot in the afternoon. Be sure to bring a water bottle and sack, as well as a swimsuit and a towel.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under childcare. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “childcare.”
The Roeland Park Community Center is located at 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park. This session begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m., although for the benefit of working parents, additional supervision will be provided from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 5:30 p.m. The cost for one eight-hour session is $31 per child for Johnson County residents or $35 per child for nonresidents. Another School Day Out Art Fun program is planned on March 24, when the theme is Springing Into Art.
The JCPRD’s Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, see the District’s website at www.jcprd.com.
