1200 runners expected for Battle of the Bean 5K
The 3rd annual Battle of the Bean 5K will be held Saturday morning, January 18, at 9am at Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard in Leawood, KS. The race begins and ends at Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard at 95th and Mission Road, and loops through the neighborhood to the north of Ranch Mart Shopping Center. Foo’s will be providing Roasterie coffee and hot chocolate to all participants, and Christopher Elbow chocolates. All participants will also receive a long sleeve t-shirt and a custom Battle of the Bean 5K travel mug! Packet pick up will be at Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard on Friday January 17 from 2-6pm, or participants can pick up their pack on the day of the event from 7:45-8:45am at the race site. The event benefits Happy Bottoms, Kansas City’s Diaper Bank. Happy Bottoms acquires diapers through financial and in-kind donations and provides them to area low income families with the help of more than a dozen partner agencies.
