Mary Moore to Perform at the Liberty, Missouri 10th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration

The Clay County African American Legacy Inc. will host its 10th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration with a program beginning at 6:30 p.m. December 27th at Garrison School Cultural Center, located at 502 N. Water. The program is free and the public is invited to attend; tickets or reservations are not required. The guest speaker/entertainer will be Mary Moore (Mother Moses), Legendary Kansas City Jazz & Blues Entertainer. Mary is one of Kansas City’s living musical legends. She came on the KC music scene in the early 70’s with performances that brought the house down wherever she sang. She has performed at the world famous Apollo Theater in New York, travelled to Europe where she sang with some of America’s most notable Blues Stars such as Bobby Bland and Luther Alston among others. The program will also include a performance by the First Baptist Church Choir of Liberty, and Praise Dancing. A free potluck reception will be held immediately following the program.
