Jan. 15 is registration deadline for Jan. 29 “Harvey” day trip to the New Theatre Restaurant
Enjoy dining and a terrifically funny matinee show of "Harvey" at the New Theatre Restaurant during a late January Day Trip being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This Harvey at New Theatre Day Trip will take place on Jan. 29, but to assure tickets for this popular show, the registration deadline is Jan 15.
This Pulitzer Prize winning comedy stars Judge Reinhold as Elwood P. Dowd, a man whose constant companion is a six-foot-tall invisible rabbit. Watch the zany antics ensure when Elwood's social-climbing sister tries to have him committed. Prior to the show, enjoy a plentiful buffet with a variety of scrumptious selections. Dessert can be ordered at your table for an additional cost.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under travel. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “day trip.”
The Harvey at New Theatre Day Trip will leave from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and return about 4 p.m. that day. The cost for this five-hour trip, including transportation, show admission, and lunch, is $49 per person. Remember, the registration deadline for this trip is Jan. 15 and seating is limited.
While the JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District’s Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the district’s website at www.jcprd.com.
