Crutch Caps, Inc. of Westwood, Kansas is happy to announce they have recently moved their company’s production back to the Kansas City metro area. Due to a lack of local production options, Laura Harrison, owner, had moved the company’s production to North Carolina in 2010. After struggling with issues from shipping, communication, quality and volume she decided it was time to pursue a change. “I was surprised by, even in this digital age, how difficult it could be for a small business to manage production long distance. We struggled with everything from communication, cost of shipping, quality issues, and turnaround time,” said Harrison.

Crutch Caps will now be produced locally by another small business, Everlasting Threads, located in North Kansas City. “I love the idea of keeping the revenue and labor here in my community, it’s always best to strengthen the local economy.”

Harrison, started her search for local production options on the internet and ended up finding her current sewing company through the owner’s Linked In profile. She met with the owner of Everlasting Threads, Cora Campbell and was pleased with the results. “The convenience of being able to meet in person and review product details and quality is something that is often underrated,” said Harrison.

Crutch Caps is now, once again, produced locally as of December, 2013. Everlasting Threads will be essential in the production of the new line of Walker and Mobility Aids products Crutch Caps is introducing.

Crutch Caps, Inc., of Westwood, Kansas has designed, developed, and patented a line of accessories for crutches and mobility aids. Laura Harrison has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis and started Crutch Caps based on lack of quality products on the market to meet the needs of those on crutches.
