Garver Named as One of KAMSA's "Exemplary" Middle School Assistant Principals of the Year

Amy Garver, Basehor-Linwood Middle School assistant principal, has been named one of

five middle school assistant principals to be recognized as a Kansas Association of Middle

School Administrators (KAMSA) 2013-2014 “Exemplary” Middle School Assistant Princi- pal of the Year. She has been with the Basehor-Linwood School District for over 11 years

and has been assistant principal at BLMS since 2010.

Pancho Bustos, Assistant Principal of Truesdell Middle School-Wichita, Elaine Carpenter,

Assistant Principal of Pioneer Trail Middle School-Olathe, Samantha Glover, Assistant

Principal of Haysville Middle School, and J. J. Libal, Assistant Principal of

Pioneer Trail Middle School-Olathe were all recognized as “Exemplary,” along with


“I feel honored and privileged to work for such an outstanding school district and com- munity,” Garver said. “This KAMSA Exemplary award belongs to the BLMS team - the

hard working students, dedicated and exemplary teachers and staff, caring and involved

parents, and a supportive Board of Education, district office and community.”

Garver will be recognized at the KAMSA Spring Conference Luncheon on May 9, 2014 at

Washburn Rural Middle School in Topeka, Kansas.

“This award comes very well deserved,” said Mr. Mike Wiley, Basehor-Linwood Middle

School principal. “Mrs. Garver continues to show hard work and dedication, and goes

above and beyond what is expected from her with her unyielding commitment to our

students, Basehor-Linwood Middle School and our district.”

“We commend each of these administrators for the outstanding effort they give to their

staff, students and communities,” John Sanborn, KAMSA Executive Director said
