WARRENSBURG, MO ? Students enrolled in the Integrative Business Experience program this semester at the University of Central Missouri have created a nonprofit company aimed at raising money for our nation's wounded veterans. G.I. Mo, as the organization is called, is a company comprised of 25 local students who have created and are currently selling one simple product; a patriotic themed t-shirt. All of the profits from the sale of this shirt will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project upon the semester's end. Supplementing these t-shirt sales, G.I. Mo is also accepting donations through an account hosted on the Wounded Warrior Project's official website, as well as accepting them during a charity 5k race being held Saturday, November 2nd on the University of Central Missouri's main campus in Warrensburg.
The charity 5k race, being called the, “Run for the Wounded,” encourages runners and non-runners alike from all over the Kansas City metro area to attend. Various prizes will be awarded to top finishers, both on the men and women's side, and to participants deemed to be, “most patriotically dressed.” Registration for the race will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will cost $15 per runner. Spectators are not only welcomed, but encouraged.
