New restaurant to open downtown MANHATTAN, KS—The team behind Harry’s in downtown Manhattan, will soon announce the opening of their restaurant Bourbon & Baker at 312 Poyntz. “We are excited to offer some traditional soulful dishes inspired by our Midwestern backgrounds and culinary experiences all in an environment that is meant to be relaxing and fun, while exploring the menu which is meant to be shared,” said Evan Grier. Grier, along with his wife, Andrea, are owners of both restaurants. Bourbon & Baker is a small plate-style restaurant with Southern and Midwestern influences. The impressive menu will appeal to a wide array of palates with offerings ranging from shrimp & grits and roasted pork loin to stuffed piquillo peppers, truffle popcorn and Southern sushi rolls. The menu also boasts family style entrees that can feed up to four. The drink selection includes 61 bourbons, a well-selected wine list, cocktails, beer and wine on tap. The bakery will feature select baked goods for walk-in retail while also offering made-to-order cake selections and special orders by request. “We are excited to be on the front end of Manhattan’s evolving downtown dining district and look forward to contributing to the growth of our community,” Evan Grier said.
