Dog Pawz playNstay Expanding to KC Crossroads District

KC Downtown Crossroads District Welcomes New High-end Dog Services for Four-footed Friends

Kansas City, Missouri (October 22, 2013) – Kansas City Crossroads, the historic neighborhood near downtown Kansas City will soon be home to the exclusive Dog Pawz playNstay, an upscale, full-service dog daycare, boarding and grooming facility. Local entrepreneur, Dan Thompson, owner, manager and dog lover extraordinaire, has expanded his business to the Crossroads opening November 1, 2013. This innovative addition fits perfectly with the district’s growing community of one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries, businesses and restaurants. “This pioneering socialization technique of cage-less boarding is key to cultivating a Zen canine”, says owner Dan Thompson. “Staffing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with drop-off curb service for grooming, daycare and overnight stays, by a dedicated team of dog lovers with online doggie web cams for proud parents, and you’ve got a recipe for hound heaven.” Thompson has been successfully proving his business model since 2010, when he opened the first Dog Pawz in Leawood, Kansas.

Long-time client John Ritter says, “I have used several daycares and groomers before I found Dog Pawz. We love this place, it makes my life so convenient and keeps my little guy happier than ever. So glad I found it!”

This expansion brings the promise of big adventures and potential partnerships to an already vibrantly Crossroads neighborhood. Dan Thompson, recently appointed to the Great Plains SPCA board and member of the Crossroads Community Association, believes in getting involved and giving back. Fundraising initiatives and foster programs are already in place with key partner Great Plains SPCA. Dan and the Dog Pawz team are exploring additional joint ventures with Hello Art, kcradio.com, Crossroads Community Association, and other local businesses.

Another patron of Dog Pawz, Philip A. of Overland Park stated, “If you have a dog that doesn’t get quite the attention or exercise it may need, Dog Pawz is the answer. My dogs come home happy, tired, and as cuddly as you could ever imagine. The prices are unbeatable in the metro area and the service is second to none.”

“Dogs are family, our kids,” says Thompson. Dog Pawz opens for business, with a grand opening of the downtown facility at 1821 Central on Friday, November 1st, from 5:00-8:30, in concert with the neighborhood’s popular First Fridays. kcradio.com’s Kelly Urich will be hosting along with Thompson and his team, look forward to welcoming old and new friends to the ‘paw-ty’.
