Annual Health Fair at the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Free fun for all! Come to the Annual Health Fair at the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library West Wyandotte Library branch for a wide range of health information and free health screenings including free vision and hearing testing for children under five. What’s your blood pressure and body mass? Would you like to learn tips on saving energy in your home? Are you interested on learning how to meditate? Looking for new recipes that are tasty and healthy for people with diabetes? Find all this and more at the health fair. Door prizes will be offered, including a drawing for 1-month family membership at the Providence YMCA/Ball Family Center booth (value $97) and T-Bones tickets for four. The children’s department will provide fun children’s activities, crafts, face painting and much more!

The Health Fair will take place on October 21st, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the West Wyandotte Library branch, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, KS, 66112. For more information, call 913-596-5800 ext. 1030.

Agencies participating include: Unified Government Public Health Department, Costco Wholesale , Chiropractic Healing Center, Providence YMCA/Ball Family Center, Workforce Partnership, Mental Health America of the Heartland, Kansas, City Board of Public Utilities, Falun Dafa Association of Kansas City, Amerigroup Kansas, Inc., Kansas City Healthy Start @ Project Eagle, Workforce Partnership, KCK Public Schools, KCK Community College, Indian Springs Dental Clinic, Keeler Women’s Center., Sam’s Club, K-State Research and Extension.

Kansas City, Kansas Public Library was formed in 1875. In 1899, it came under the authority of the Board of Education, USD 500, and remains there today. It serves a population of 155,085 in Kansas City, Kansas, and Wyandotte County.
