JOHN KNOX VILLAGE INVITES COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN MISSION FAIR

John Knox Village, a continuing care retirement community in Lee’s Summit, Mo., is hosting an event that provides the ideal combination of inspiration and education. Members of the public are invited to attend the Mission Fair from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at The Pavilion, 520 N.W. Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, Mo. The fair includes more than 30 booths featuring representatives and information about local, regional and global missionaries and missions. Representatives from the Peace Corps, Wheels to Freedom, Rachel House, Youth for a Mission and many will share information and stories about what they do, why they do it and how to become involved. “The fair provides everyone the chance to learn more about what missionaries do, meet interesting people and learn about the great work that is taking place by people just like you.” said Chaplain Bev Weddle. “It is easy to get absorbed in our own little world and not be aware of what is going on outside of our comfort zone. This is your opportunity to see missionaries from around the world right here in Lee’s Summit.” Refreshments will be served and admission is free. For more information about the fair, contact Edna Speidel at edna.speidel@jkvresident.org or Chaplain Bev Weddle at bweddle@jkv.org or 816-347-2311.
