Latino Independence Day Celebration hosted by World Revival Church this Sunday, Sept. 15

Fiesta Hispana – Celebración de Independencia Kansas City 2013 is a free family event featuring fun and games for kids, Hispanic music and food.

KANSAS CITY, MO – Hosted by World Revival Church, Fiesta Hispana – Celebración de Independencia Kansas City 2013 offers a fun family-centered event for Latin American families in the greater Kansas City area. The Independence Day celebration is this Sunday, Sept. 15, 1-4 p.m. on the campus of World Revival Church at 9900 View High Drive, Kansas City, Mo. The public is invited to attend this outdoor event.

The free event offers a water slide and bounce house for kids, face painting and Payaso Zapatón, a local clown entertainer. A mechanical bull will add to the fun for all ages.

The afternoon will feature live music from several Latino bands, including the Pepe Lopez Band, D7 Band and Mariachi Cielo. Local restaurants will also be at the event with food trucks offering Mexican menus and a grill with hamburgers and hotdogs for those interested.

“As a multi-cultural church, we wanted to offer a bridge into the Hispanic community,” shares Steve Gray, senior pastor and founder of World Revival Church. “This event is a great way to celebrate the rich Hispanic culture represented in greater Kansas City.”

Celebración de Independencia Kansas City 2013 kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month which also begins September 15. The date marks the anniversary of independence for five Hispanic countries – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Additionally, September 16 marks Mexico’s Independence Day, with September 18 the anniversary of Chile’s independence.
