Learn about upcoming travel destinations when JCPRD presents a 50 Plus Travel Show on Oct. 1

Learn about domestic and international destinations for upcoming trips being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District during a Travel Show in early October.

During this free three-hour event, participants will learn about the exciting trips, including day trips and extended trips, which JCPRD has to offer. Meet tour professionals who will answer questions and explain the advantages of traveling with 50 Plus. Presentations with stunning photos, trip overviews, and interesting facts about future tours will be presented. The Travel Show program will take place beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. Call Sharon at (913) 831-3355 for reservations. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “travel.”

While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
