First Annual Memory Walk To Honor Kansas City's Murder Victims

The Kansas City Area Wide Chapter of Parents Of Murdered Children will hold the first annual Memory Walk: A Journey Through Grief on Saturday, October 5, 2013. The one mile walk will be held at the Kansas City Police Department Regional Police Academy track located at 6801 NE Pleasant Valley Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119.

Participants are encouraged to walk as a team or as individuals in memory of friends, family members, children and other loved ones who have been lost through acts of violence. The cost is $20 per walker and includes a t-shirt, children 10 and under are free. Additional t-shirts will be sold for $10. Registration starts at 8:30am and the walk will begin with a memorial balloon release at 10:00am. Participants can have a 13"x15" photo of their loved one placed along the track for $15. Photos must be received by September 25th.

A raffle will also be held with great prizes including show tickets, sports items, and more.

The KC Area Wide Chapter of Parents Of Murdered Children is a non-profit organization that meets monthly to help others through the grieving process of losing a loved one through the act of murder.
