(Overland Park, KS, August 5, 2013) – A 31-year insurance industry veteran has been named Chief Financial Officer of MAX (MutualAid eXchange), a spiritually based and socially responsible insurance enterprise headquartered in Overland Park, KS.

Daniel J. Boxell was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Insurance Company of St. Louis, a property-casualty insurance carrier specializing in underwriting commercial automobile coverage for the taxi and other public transportation segments. Boxell joined Gateway in 1982 as a junior accountant. He worked his way up through the ranks, including stints as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

MAX adheres to the principles of fairness, faith and social responsibility. It provides home, business, farm, church, vehicle and other forms of insurance in most U.S. states and five Canadian provinces.

“I believe business should have a conscience and give back to society. That’s exactly what MAX does so I’m thrilled to be here,” Boxell said. “I look forward to helping it grow and prosper”

What makes MAX unique is that it devotes one percent of revenues to a fund that provides extra support to individuals and families in need. MAX associates work with faith and social welfare organizations to identify persons in need, and to coordinate financial, emotional and spiritual support that can help them regain wholeness beyond what insurance can provide.

MAX was founded upon faith-based core values that direct it to be: •Spiritual in all things, •Stewards of the earth and its resources, •Servants in our community, and •Compassionate to our members, their families and communities. More about MAX is available at or 913-338-1100.
